Etienne Hebert is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana Plaque 10 Left, L'Amitie. Listed with him is his second wife Anne Magdeleine Brod and children: Louis, Guillaume, Gabriel, Cecille and Marie Magdeleine. [1]

Marie Madeleine Hébert was born on 1 May 1785 in the quarter of Nantes known as l'Hermitage, and was baptized the same day at the parish of Saint-Martin in Chantenay, Bretagne (now part of Nantes, Loire-Atlantique), France. [2] Her godparents were Alexis Braud, her maternal ancestor, and Marie Hébert.

Marie Madeleine, a nursling daughter of Étienne Hébert and his wife Magdelaine Braud, was traveling with them and four other children [from his 1st marriage] as the 31st family (of 7 persons) aboard the ship "L'Amitié'" which embarked in France on 20 Aug 1785 and debarked in Louisiana on 8 Nov 1785. [3]

Her family settled in Lafourche, Louisiana, where her father Étienne and Madeleine were recorded in the 1795 census with 3 children: Luis 21, Maria 11 and Mariana 11. [4]

On 8 January 1804, in Plattenville, Assumption, Louisiana, she married Antoine Hippolyte Boutary, son of Antoine Boutary and Marie Saulnier. [5]

She passed away on 15 July 1854 in Louisiana. [6]
