DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Robert or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.

Hi, Rob, thank you for marking so many Acadian parent relationships as confident. It looks like all of them have reliable sources (baptism, marriage, or census, White counts too!) to do so, that would be important. I'd never thought of that as a project but it really is needed so people can be confident of connections and relationships. Cindy Bourque Cooper, co-leader, Acadians Project
Hi Robert! It's great that you're adding profiles to the shared tree. To help other people work (identify or reject matches, connect branches, add sources or identify profiles for project work) it's critical to add places in the data fields. Especially to the birth fields.
Welcome to the Netherlands and the Dutch Roots Project Rob!
At our Dutch Roots Project page you can find all project info .. if you still have questions or need some help feel free to ask, we're all happy to help :)
Here's a direct link to our most important links for info for and about Dutch profiles. And here's the latest Project Update. (our Dutch Naming Convention and the part about the LNAB (=Last Name At Birth) are the most important and will help prevent duplicates ;) )
Thank you, Rob, for sending the note re Basile Cormier. It was actually a bit hard to see because it also showed there was a merge involved. But after rereading your note and checking both of the Marguerite Arseneau profiles, I was able to see that it was true. And we will have a cleanup of the two Basile Cormier profiles too! Appreciate that you caught this. Thanks! Cindy
I was checking information on another site and found that Jean Theriot was linked as a husband as well so I wanted to verify on WikiTree because the dates did not make sense with the children birthdates, good thing there were notes on Basile.
Thanks,
Robert
Thanks for having a Big Heart and adopting Orphan Profiles. You will want to read this After adopting orphans FAQ to understand what to do next and it explains the special attention those profiles need.
Thanks for joining us! I hope you're enjoying our site and our community. I just wanted to check and see how things are going. Have the New Member How-To pages been helpful or left you with questions?

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Sources are very important here on Wikitree, especially on Pre-1700 profiles. It is how we show where we got the info and help others find it too. Find out more about sources here and more detailed info here.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Thanks that will be pretty easy, for the past eight generations they've all lived with 75 radius. Rob
