During 2020 I devoted a good amount of time to researching family history and found that I really enjoyed it. Before that I knew very little about my ancestors and I've been astonished to discover what seem to be reliable links both to people who led "high profile" lives as well as to those whose lives were (at first glance) more mundane.
In my free time, aside from genealogy I enjoy biking, hiking, photography, making puzzles, learning about all sorts of mysteries, following sports, and listening to a variety of music.
If I might be able to help with a genealogical issue, please don't hesitate to reach out.
I bought the FTDNA Y37 test. The result and matches (at least 26 out of 33 with surname Hebert at the 37-marker level) convincingly confirm me as a Hebert and, along with the paper trail, suggest that my Hebert line runs through the Acadian settler Etienne. So my Y-DNA belongs to a R1b-DF27 subclade (going by others' Big Y results) which seems to have many more close "cousins" in the British Isles than in France, even taking into account the lack of DNA testing in France. But maybe this is deceptive and eventually the close French cousin clades will be identified.
As of July 29, 2023, I'm descended from William the Conqueror in 306 ways through my father's grandmothers.
As of Sept. 23, 2023, I'm descended from Charlemagne (Charles Carolingian (abt.0748-0814)) in 53,502 ways through my father's ancestors.
I see you added PGM as one of your TAGS. That's great. Nice to see you're "facinated to find these connections." I too am connected to several people who migrated to New England between 1620 & 1640.
Hope you enjoy your discoveries!
Cheryl, PGM Co-Leader
Someday we'll probably discover that we're actually closer than 22nd cousins...
Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions or problems, let me know.
Take care

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
The Massachusetts or the Puritan Great Migration Project may fit your current research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Please take your time. Speed is less important than accuracy here. Add at least one source to each profile before you leave it.
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
Happy tree climbing
