Biography

Mary Olivia Hebert, daughter of Jean Clairfe Hebert and Marie Emelia Rivette, was born on 26 February 1888 in Carencro, Lafayette Parish, LA.1,2 She was enumerated as the daughter of Clairfe' Hebert (given age 38) on the 1900 Census in St. Landry Parish, LA. She worked as a laborer on the family farm, and could not read, write or speak English.3

She married Raphael Thompson, son of John Ellis Thompson and Julie Brasseur, on 26 December 1907 in Grand Coteau, St. Landry Parish, LA.4

Olivier Thompson (given age 22) was enumerated as the wife of Ralph Thompson (given age 23) on the 1910 Census, living in Acadia Parish, LA.5,6

She was widowed on 18 July 1939.7,8

Mary Olivia Thompson died at age 80 on 6 September 1968 in Mulvey, Vermilion Parish, LA. She was buried at Kaplan Cemetery, aka Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, in Kaplan, Vermilion Parish, LA. Her grave is located in section A, row 7.2
