James M. Heck, age 72, of Crystal River, FL, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010, at the Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River. Born December 28, 1937, in Butler, PA, he came here 32 years ago from Butler. James was the retired owner/operator of Beau James Bush Hogging in Crystal River, with 20+ years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during Vietnam era in the Military Police. A former member of the Crystal River Loyal Order of Moose, he was of the Lutheran faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Heck, in July 2004, and close friend, Bridgett Saulter, in June 2009. Survivors include his daughter, Raya Sassard (Jerrod) of Crystal River, and close friends Tara Billig of Homosassa, FL, and Lois Berry of Coloma, MI; a brother, John "Jack" Heck of Butler, PA; an adopted daughter, Eileen Yenikalaloitis of Laurel, MD; 3 grandchildren, James Lyle, Jade Alexandria and Felix Orion; and a nephew, Larry Heck. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday evening October 9, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. from the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Crystal River, FL. Private cremation arrangements will follow under the care of Strickland Funeral Home Crystal River, FL.^[1]
