Benjamin Franklin Hedden was born about 1819 in Kentucky.[1] He was the son of Eleazer Hedden and Elizabeth (Christian) Hedden Givens.
He was first married 30 December 1844 or 2 January 1845 in Hopkins County, Kentucky to Elizabeth A. Rea.[2][3]
He was married a second time 12 June 1852 in Hopkins County to Amelia Catherine Traylor.

Benjamin F Hedden, age 31, born about 1819 in KY, was enumerated as head of household with wife Elizabeth A Hedden (25); children: John C Hedden (5), Mary Hedden (3), Lucy Hedden (5 months). In addition, Benjamin's mother Elizabeth L Givens, age 70, born in Virginia, lived in the household. All other household members were born in Kentucky.[1]
