Research Notes
Why has someone written "Pioneer" on the back of the back of his portrait photo? How was he a pioneer? Was it just because of his long beard?
1881 England and Wales Census is handwritten and misspells his place of birth as "Curcin side" instead of Corsenside - as spelled correctly in 1871 England and Wales Census.
