Michelstown Parish records show baptisms for the children of Thomas and Catherine as below, with a gap in available records from Jul 1801 to Sep 1814. [1]
Children
Baptism Date
John Heffernan
12 Apr 1792
Margaret Heffernan
27 Jul 1794
Stephen Heffernan
27 Jan 1797
Honora Heffernan
13 Jan 1800
Thomas and Catherine had more children than those listed above although unable to find birth/baptism records for those.
Traditionally baptisms took place at a time very near the birth date, excepting when the odd family 'saved up' and brought more than 1 child in for baptizing at the same time. This wasn't the case with Thomas and Catherine.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Stephen by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Stephen:
