Biography

John was born in 1750. He passed away in 1827.

John and his first wife, Martha Van Horn, were the parents of

  1. Jane who married a Mr. Smith
  2. Ann, who married John Shay Jr.
  3. Isabell, who married John M Ferran, and
  4. Martha who was born Christmas Day of 1783 and died in Northampton TWP, Bucks Co. PA Nov 10,1871.

Both John and Barbara had been previously married and both were responsible for four children at the time of their marriage. Barbara and her first husband, Samuel Murray, were the parents of

  1. Elizabeth, who married Benjamin Hegerman
  2. Mary, who married Wilhemier Carson
  3. Sarah, who married Joseph Hillborn
  4. Samuel, who married Martha Briggs.

John Hegeman had a Land Warrant for 70 acres in Northumberland Co, PA dated 30 May 1794. (see image)

Will

John left a will in Bucks County, PA in Will Book 10, page 502

Will of John Hageman
Be it known unto all men that I, John Hageman of Northampton TWP, Bucks County and state of Pennsylvania make constitute and appoint this my last will and testament.
I give and bequeath unto my wife Barbara my horse and riding chair and one cow both to be kept for her on the farm together with whatever linen and household and kitchen furniture she may think fit to take, likewise a home in the house for herself and our two grandchildren Charles and Barbary Ann Scott and to be furnished out of my Estate with board sufficient for herself, but if she should choose to live elsewhere then to be paid ten dollars a year in lieu of dower in full. (She having other incomes,) to her, her heirs and assigns forever.
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Beulah, a cow, a good feather bed with its furniture, also a bureau and table of about the same value as my other daughters have had and a half dozen windsor chairs besides for legacy of one hundred dollars as hereby after directed. The likewise to have a home in the house while she remains single.
I give and bequeath unto my daughters Jane Smith, Ann Shay, Isabella M Ferran, Martha Hageman, Hannah Scott, Priscilla Scott, Phebe Scott, Barbara VanSant, Catherine Shaw and Beulah Hageman one hundred dollars each to them or their legal representatives, forever. Provided never the less that if the heirs or legal representatives of my late daughter Jane Smith shall not demand their share or dividend within twelve years then her legacy to be divided between her other nine wisters or their legal representatives share and share alike.
I give and bequeath unto my son Lewis Hageman all the farm and plantation whereon I now dwell together with all the stock, farm utensils, household furniture and grain thereon excepting those articles bequeathed to my wife Barbara and daughter Beulah. The whole devise subject to the payment of my just debts, dower to my wife and legacies to my daughters and to him, his heirs and assigns forever.
And' lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my said son Lewis Hageman, Executor to this my last will and testament revoking all other wills by me heretofore made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of August, Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and twenty-two. John Hageman

Serious problems here!

The birth location says Pennsylvania, but the source for that statement says New Jersey. The date of birth says 1750, but the linked Find A Grave says 1771. The first marriage date is 1769, two years before the Find A Grave birth.

Hegeman-484 and Hegeman-332 appear to represent the same person because: These two are the same. I descend from the 2nd marriage and I've added the children and wife for that marriage.

After Martha Van Horn died, John married Barbara Woolman 26 July 1784 in Bucks County, PA. Barbara also been previously married to a Samuel Murray in 1773. John Hagemen (Hegeman) and Barbara are the parents of my ancestor Hannah Hageman which is Hageman-336 on Wikitree. Hannah married William F. Scott which is Scott-18681. I would like my family connected to John Hegeman (Hegeman-332) Thank you for your assistance.
