Richard Arnold Hein was born on 17 Feb 1921 in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan, United States [1] He was the son of William A. Hein and Ada Ruth Phillips.
In 1930, Richard was living with his parents in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, United States. [2]
On July 10, 1939, Richard married Kathleen Hanagan, daughter of William L. Hanagan and Annie Eaton in Highland Park, Wayne County, Michigan, United States. They were both 18. Richard worked as a salesperson. [3]
In 1940, Richard, Kathleen, and their son, William, lived in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, United States with Kathleen's parents William and Annie Hanagan. Richard had completed 3 years of high school and worked as a distributor for a wholesale bakery. [4]
Richard enlisted in the United States Army on 19 April 1944 and was released from duty on 12 March 1946. [5]
Richard passed away on 2 August 2010 in Lake Odessa, Ionia County, Michigan, United States. He is buried at Deepdale Memorial Park inDelta Township, Eaton County, Michigan, United States. [6]
Richard's obituary reads: "Richard, 89, of Lake Odessa, was called Home to his Savior on Monday afternoon. Richard was born to Arnold William and Ada Ruth (Phillips) Hein. He had served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WW II. Following his discharge from the military, he started the family painting business in the Lansing area, and in later years he joined the Painter's Union. He married Ila Jeffers on September 24, 1971. Richard loved music, especially from the 1920's and 30's, and looked forward to watching Lawrence Welk. Richard is survived by his grandson, Richard and Scarlett Key of Oklahoma; and 4 great grand children, Kaleb, Kyler, Kiersten, and Kaelin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ila; and sons, William R. Hein and Richard N. Hein. The funeral service was held on Thursday, August 5 at the Koops Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Community Hospice Residence." [7]
