Elizabeth Cecelia "Betty" Helm was born in 1720 in Richmond, Virginia, her father, Thomas, was 33, and her mother, Margaret, was 22. She died in 1797 in Newberry, South Carolina, having lived a long life of 77 years.
About 1732 she married William Ederington (1712–1770) in Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, Virginia. Among their children, all born in Overwharton Parish, were:
She remarried John Davis (1719 - 1785) about 1778.
Elizabeth died in 1797 Newberry County, S.C.
