Johann Frederick Helmer was the son of Frederick Helmer and Maria Barbara Kast. Johann was born about 1735. He passed away in 1777.

Frederick served during the American Revolution as a Captain under Col Peter Bellinger, and with Patriotic Service as a Committee of Safety Member in Tryon County.[1]
