Biography
Burrell was born in 1784. He was a son of Tilman Helms, Jr. & Elizabeth Mary Presley. He married Elizabeth Thompson & was the father of 18 children. He passed away after July 1871.

Editor Democrat:--Mr T. C. Willoughby sends the following to show how prolific Union county is: and others think we can show a better list than this: Burrel Helms now aged 97, was married in the year 1807 to his wife Elizabeth now aged 95, and are the parents of 18 children, 10 boys& 8 girls--dead 8.
The have 66 Grand-children, 35 boys and 31 girls--20 dead; Great-grand-children 88, 48 boys and 40 girls--16 dead; Great-great-grand-children 8, 4 boys and 4 girls.
There are two of the family living in Cabarrus county who are not fully reported in the above.

Bucky Sutton
There is an article in the "Charlotte Democrat" dated July 1, 1871, stating that he is living and is currently 97. Hence his birth must be about 1774 and his death in or after 1871.
