- There are two Claud* Alex* Helms born about the same time in North Carolina (one the son of J W Helms, the other the son of C. F. Helms) as well as a Claud A Helms born in Boston, Massachusetts who died in Indiana. Care is needed when determining whether records are for this man.
- A possible WWII Draft Registration card from Illinois was found at Ancestry. Claude was living in Chicago in 1989 according to his brother's obituary.
