Biography

Eliza was born sometime in 1822 in Tockwith, Yorkshire, England. She was baptised on the 1 December 1822 in Bilton (nr. Wetherby), Yorkshire ^[1].

Eliza married William Shepherd on the 15th February 1847 in Knaresborough, Yorkshire ^[2]. She was 24 years 8 months old. They only had one child together before William's untimely death in about December 1851 in Knaresborough, Yorkshire. At the time of the 1851 Census Eliza and her son were living apart from William with her parents in Knaresborough ^[3].

Eliza married again on 27th March 1852 to Henry Boddy in Knaresborough, Yorkshire ^[4]. She was aged 29 years 9 months. They set up home together in Hartlepool, Co. Durham, England. They had a least five children together ^[5][6][7].

Eliza died in about November 1892 in Hartlepool, Co. Durham. She was aged 70 years 5 months ^[8].

Notes:
Eliza had a daughter Mary Ann Shepherd Helmsley before her marriage to William Shepherd. Mary Ann was unrelated to William but sometimes took the name Shepherd.
