How to Join Community Logo

As a genealogist, you're interested in your family tree. As a Wiki Genealogist, you know it's not just your tree. It's our tree. We're all cousins.

By contributing to WikiTree you're helping others. You're helping to connect the human family and making it easier for everyone to discover their roots for free.

As volunteers working on the same project, we recognize ourselves as a special community of genealogists. Here are some ways to get more involved in the community aspects of WikiTree.

Be Social

Don't be a stranger. We're a friendly bunch here!

  • The heart of our community is G2G, our Genealogist-to-Genealogist Forum. Browse around a little bit. If you haven't already, introduce yourself.

Choose a Volunteer Activity

Venture out of your own branches!

See the Volunteers Needed page for a list of ways that your energy and expertise (no matter the level) are needed right now. There is never a shortage of things to do on WikiTree.

Check out the challenges tag in G2G if you might enjoy some friendly, fun competition.

Stay Connected

Your followed tags will help keep you informed about new members and what's going around WikiTree that's related to your particular interests. You might want to add a couple tags that keep you in touch with the community as a whole. Announcements will alert you to new features and changes on WikiTree. We use WikiTree_Love to share good things.

Check in on the Calendar to stay up to date on all of our weekly and monthly challenges and other important events.

There's always something happening in our community. We're glad you as part of it.
