Biography

David Calloway Hemrick, Jr was the first born son of David Hemrick and Sarah McElreath. He was born in Athens, Clarke, Georgia in 1909. The 1910 US Census shows that the family was living with Lois McElreath (Sarah's mother) and three of her siblings. ^[1]

In 1920, the Hemrick family was living on Culver Street in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett, Georgia. David was 10 years old. ^[2]

In 1930, David was 20 years old, living at home with his father and two siblings. They lived on Josephine Street, NE in Dekalb, Georgia.David met Miss Doris Elizabeth Castleberry in 19-- They married in 1933 in Atlanta, Dekalb, Georgia.

In 1934, David worked for Armour Fertilizer Works. ^[3]

David and Doris had two daughter, Suzanne and Betty. They lived in Atlanta, on Kings Court. (Hillside Cottage). He worked as a public accountant with an accounting firm. ^[4]

In 1993, David was living in Daytona Beach, Florida.

David passed July 1999 at age 90 in Columbus, Georgia where he was living. His oldest daughter lived in Columbus. (Personal recollection of Betty Hemrick youngest daughter.) He is buried in Liberty Hill Baptist
