John George Hendershot a.k.a. Johann George Hendershot was the seventh child of Michael Henneschied and Katherine Ann Von Heinreichshofen, the first generation in America. The descent continues in the youngest child and last son -- Johann Georg Heinrich v. Hayderschatt, born Jan. 23, 1720, on the Millstone River in Sussex County, New Jersey and died in Greenwich township, Warren County, N.J., Jan. 26, 1797. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church as above but died as John George Hendershatt.

John was quite wealthy. It seems that there is no documentary evidence but according to family tradition, he received an inheritance from the estate of Von Hayderschatte in Germany. Married in 1746 (2nd) Ann Schooley, born June 29, 1727. She was the daughter of Samuel Schooley, Esq. of Schooley's Mountain, Newton, New Jersey, son of Thomas Schooley, Esq. of Burlington, N.J. who came from York County, England in ship "Willing Maid", in November 1677. They had nine children.
