During the War of 1812, Isaac Hendershot served as a private in the 2nd York Militia. He served from April 25 to June 2, 1813 in a detachment of the 2nd York and 4th and 5th Lincoln Militia under the command of Major Richard Hatt. 
He served from July 6 to 15, 1813 in a detachment under the command of Lieut. Col. Richard Beasley. 
He worked on Dundas Street from November 10 to 20, 1813 in Capt. Thomas Merrigold’s Company.
