Biography

The daughter of Darius Hendershot and Laura (Dildine) Hendershot, Julia was born in Tecumseh in 1892.^[1][2] Her father passed away in 1908 and she and her mother moved to Detroit, where her mother opened a rooming house.^[3] She married [[[Kenyon850|James Kenyon Sr]], the son of Lorenzo Dow Kenyon and Eunice A. Benedict, marrying in Detroit on October 15, 1913.^[4] They moved to California, by way of Washington, where their son was born, and resided in Stockton, in San Joaquim County, where her husband worked as the manager at a tractor company.^[5] Their children included:

1. Marjorie Yvonne Kenyon (1918-1972)
2. Jack Louis Kenyon (1918-2006)
3. Harry Read Kenyon (1922-1978)
4. Laura Belle Kenyon (1927-1927)

They later returned to Michigan, residing in Highland Park; her husband worked as a manager at an automobile service.^[6] By 1940, they had returned to Los Angeles, her mother returning with them, residing again in Stockton.^[7]

She passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 48^[8][9] and is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.^[10]
