Biography
The daughter of William Hendershot and Sarah (Sones) Hendershot, Laura was born in Tecumseh Township in 1878.[1] She lived with her family in Leslie Township, in Ingham County.[2][3] She married Bert M. Chapman (1871-1912), the son of Charles Denison Chapman and Caroline Loraine Freeman, marrying in Leslie Township on December 22, 1897.[4] She was his second wife. They had one child together, Thelma Adelaide Chapman (1898-1966). They made their home in Leslie Township.[5][6]
Her husband passed away in May of 1912 and Laura remarried, marrying Wellington Ezeria Van Camp (1875-1954), the son of David Van Camp and Emma Bates. They married in Leslie Township on September 19th of that year.[7] She was Wellington Van Camp's second wife. They made their home in Detroit, where her second husband worked as a salesman for a machinery company.[8] She passed away in April of 1920, at the age of 42. She is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leslie Township.[9]
