Biography

Kezia was born in 1832.^[1]

Kezia Henderson arrived in Victoria 1853.

She passed away in 1889. She had significant wealth when she died, including 19 acres of land in the parish of Jika Jika. Her will is available on ancestry.com. Leader (Melbourne, Vic. : 1862 - 1918, 1935), Saturday 27 April 1889, page 46. ^[2] McCALLUM. — On the 17th April, at her late residence, Hotham-street, East St. Kilda, Kezia Jane, the wife of John M'Callum in her 57th year.

^[3] She is buried in St Kilda Cemetery in the Jowett family plot along with many other family members, buried or memorialised there, including: her husband, John McCallum, their grandson Joseph Mack (memorial) who was killed in action in 1916, their grandson Eric Craven Jowett (memorial) killed in action in 1916, also Jean, the infant daughter of Charles J and Emmie McCallum. Later burials include her daughter Annette Rose McCallum, son in law Edmund Jowett, grandson Arthur Craven Jowett, and great grandsons, Edmund and Humphrey Jowett (Arthur's sons).^[4][5]
