Born at one minute to midnight 8th March, 1952, in Rutherglen , Victoria, Australia. Alexander Hugh Henderson , father, was an excise officer with the Customs and Excise Dept. of the federal Australian Government stationed in Rutherglen, a large wine growing area in north-east Victoria. We moved back to Melbourne for a short time in 1956 to 183 Dryburgh st, North Melbourne, my paternal grandparents home [ Austin Garnet Henderson and Sarah Ann , nee Hughes ], and thence to 113 Bindi st. Glenroy until 1957 when my parents bought a property at 32 Robert st., Parkdale, Vic., with a war service loan, Dad being a returned serviceman from WW2 I lived there until a half hour after my final matriculation exam in 1970 when I hitchhiked to Sydney to join a few mates, and among other places, lived in Frances st just off Hyde park, and Abercrombie st Chippendale, opposite the Royal Oak hotel. Worked at Melwire, who offered me a a cadetship in engineering. Instead I went with Tony Butler to N.Z. on June 3rd 1972, landing in Auckland with the intention that this would be the first leg of our world trip. I met Denise Baker on the 4th June 1972, with whom I fell immediately in love and my overseas plans were put on hold for another 25 yrs. In the meantime, Denise and I married on 10/03/1973, I worked at being a dairy farmer, guest house manager, rubbish removalist, storeman, moved to Australia again, travel consultant, had 2 children - Kate and Emma, had our own business, a delicatessen, went back to N.Z., managed the largest fast food outlet in N.Z. at the time [Georgie Pie, Greenlane] and then joined the Michael Hill Jeweller organization, moved back to Australia, and around Australia where I remain, in Portarlington, currently retired from full time management, but officially still on the books as a Projects Consultant, on a casual contract with Michael Hill.

Thank you for adding your DNA Test information to your profile on WikiTree. Your information will be propagated to the profiles of your parents and your ancestors within about 24 hours of being added. It will also propagate to the profiles of the descendants of your ancestors, so they may see your information under the heading "DNA Connections" just as you can see theirs.
Getting started with DNA outlines how to proceed to use your DNA test information on WikiTree and DNA is a link to a collection of links about WikiTree's many features involving DNA.
The DNA Connections list on your profile will provide a visual way for you to find potential relatives on WikiTree who have also added their DNA test information. Using DNA tools at sites like GEDMatch.com, if you find a relative that matches your DNA sufficiently and you have genealogical sources for the intermediate relationships, you can mark the specific parental relationships back to the most recent ancestor that you both share as "confirmed with DNA." For details, guidance, and examples of how to properly document DNA confirmations, see DNA confirmation.
To get the best results, continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to ancestors already in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, it can sometimes help to add what you know on another line. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches that relate to the particular branches you are researching.
Let me know if you have any questions and have fun!
