DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Lorna or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line: It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Lorna:

Hello Lorna - quite a few of your English profiles have abbreviations in the location fields. The England Project Data Doctors would be very grateful if you would expand them out to the full spelling: ENG=England DUR=County Durham and LAN=Lancashire.

Many thanks, Jo, England Project

As and when I find them again, yes I do. Unfortunately they came in with a large GEDCOM import back in 2011 which I definitely recommend people do NOT do.

There are only so many hours in the day however given for those also not open profiles I usually tidy up the imported extraneous GEDCOM junk and, if applicable, open them

Thanks for such a speedy reply Lorna. I'll send you Trusted List requests for the seven that are sitting in the ENG abbreviation DBE category, and then I can get on and expand them out if you wish. Or at least you will know which ones I'm talking about. They are about 100 years old and over.

Cheers, Jo

Hi Jo

I've quickly tidied (I ususally do more than that) and orphaned the two non-Runciman ones and added you to the Trusted list for the Runciman ones which I'll tidy up the bios for at some stage. Lorna

Just done the first thanks Lorna, and added the GRO death to the sources. I'll take myself off all of them once done

Hi Lorna

It's time for a One Name Studies Project check-in!

Could you please advise me which One Name Studies you're still actively coordinating, i.e. maintaining the main study page and associated research pages, and replying to queries/comments from members.

You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. I look forward to hearing from you!

If I don’t receive your response within the next three weeks, I’ll assume that your interests have changed or you are no longer able to coordinate any One Name Studies, and you'll be removed from the project.

Regards

Jacqueline Baxter, ONS Project Co-Leader

Lorna,

There are serveral profiles you manage with a separator (?) in the location or in the name. You can set the status as uncertain instead of adding a (?). Would you be willing to make these edits? Let me know if you need any help. Linda Data Doctor

I fix as I find, and tidy, the imorted profiles these came in with Linda - when time permits.

Hi Lorna

Responding here as it makes sense as we do indeed connect and we did originally contact each other back in 2005 regarding the Murrays in Otterburn, Northumberland. I think it will be ok to merge our records for James Patterson Murray but you will need to agree to the place and date of death in mine (I thought I had him before and that is the information you have but I really did find his death 5 years later in Otterburn. I'm also curious where you found his birthdate as it wasn't on the baptism records from the church in Reay.

I have done DNA through Ancestry and have uploaded to a few places. I can't remember having it done at 23andme but I have emails from them. Didn't they get bought out or merge with someone else?

Will email separately to continue our conversations. Lovely to be in touch again

Hello. I am the male Henderson you have been looking for. There may have been others who said they were me but they are imposters. Archibald, James and William of Perthshire are on my list. Nice to meet you cousin.

Oh so tempting the profile of Janet Shakelton Grieve, d/o James Shackelton and Janet Gray. Have you given me a clue why James Gray born 1821 emigrated with my Strachan family - which also have a connection to my Shackelton on that same line?
Good work on Robert Grieve's profile [Grieve-769]. Doesn't appear to be related (yet) to my husband's maternal Grieve line.

Hi Lorna - I stumbled on your site http://lornahen.com and noticed that you are here on Wikitree.

My search was for the parents of Janet Jack (Jack-2163) 1813-1871 wife of Robert Paterson - both immigrated from Kincardine, Scotland to Canada around 1836-7. You have them with Janet Jack's parents as James Jack and Janet Junkin (1786-1791). If you have sources for James and Janet would you mind sharing or adding them to Wikitree?

I do so wish WikiTree had automatically opened all the profiles of people born between 150 and 200 years ago when they had been originally loaded with the default privacy options and the default changed!

Although I do suppose a review of older loads does result in tidying up a bit :)

This profile should be open because the birth date is greater than 150 years in the past. Can this profile be changed to open so others can help with improving it.

Thanks! Peggy
