Biography

Maggie Mae Henderson "Mae" was born on August 14, 1886 in Cannonville, Utah. She was the ninth child of William Jasper Henderson and Alvira Aurelia Dickson.^[1]

She married John Fletcher, also of Cannonville, on December 29, 1913 in Panguitch,^[2] Mae and John raise four children in Cannonville: John "Clele", Quentin, Merle and Wallace "Reed." In the late 1920's the family moved to Springville where John opened a store and gas station.

The children all graduated from Springville High School and all had the opportunity for a university education in Utah. John died before any finished college, and Mae remained in Springville while they finished. After the last of the children left home, she moved to Salt Lake City.

She eventually moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to live with her daughter Merle Green, and died on January 9, 1967. She is buried next to John in the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville.
