In spite of the efforts of a number of dedicated John Henderson record researchers, we have yet to prove, when, or where, John Henderson was born, or his FIRST wife's given or surname. (My ancestor.)
John Henderson was obviously not born 1728 in Amherst Co., VA, as Amherst Co., was not formed until 07 Apr 1761, from Albemarle Co., VA.
We know that John Henderson m (2) Margaret (?) Campbell, the widow of his neighbor, George Campbell, who died 1776-77, Amherst Co., VA.
The Marriage Bonds and Other Marriage Records of Amherst County, Virginia 1763-1800, by William Montgomery Sweeney, p 55, proves that Agnes Burnett was not the daughter of John Henderson.
The Marriage record reads: JOHN McAlexander, bachelor, and AGNESS BURNETT, spinster. March 25, 1780. Samuel McAlexander, surety. Consent of her parents JOHN & ELIZABETH BURNETT. NOT JOHN HENDERSON.

THank you so much. I have pasted your comment into the profile, because you have his estate and children. Are there wikitree profiles for his children? If so, please we need to attach him, so we don't have duplicates, or unconnected families. With 2 men named Martin witnessing, could your FIRST wife be their kin? Let me know if there are wikitree profiles for any of his kids, or first wife, and we can attach. I changed his birth place to Virginia Colony. Let's keep on this. I am from George Campbell 1720-1791 his neighbor, not the first husband of Margaret. Notice Margaret's first husband lived at the Scots-Irish Settlement of Rockfish. Have you researched those folks to get any clues? Best regards, Lilly Martin
