William was born in 1764. He passed away in 1798.
According to a recording of the Benjamin Hendrick family, also called the Anson Chesterfield Chronicles, William arrived in the Lower District of Mecklenburg County, VA before 1788, see page 20. Apparently Benjamin had returned to South Carolina at about the same time.
William died by July 1799 when his estate inventory was taken. [1] His accounts were listed in July of 1800.[2]
This reference to William, husband of Judith Michaux, also includes mention of a Stephen Hendrick, a John Francis and a list of 7 slaves: David, Abram, Peter, Winny, Rachel, Lucy and Ben
William's estate is also referenced on pages 27-28, of the same Anson Chesterfield Chronicles, in the 1799 Mecklenburg Tax Rolls, List A, as having 19 slaves, 11 of whom were named. This indicates a secondary source confirming his passing in the previous year.
William Hendrick purchased the Logsdale Plantation. However, Hendrick died and the transaction was not completed until after his death. His son William Hendrick Jr. ended up with the plantation.
