Biography

Pearl Hendricks was born on August 22, 1902 in Adams County, Indiana, USA. Her parents were John Hendricks and Anna Topp. She married Vinton Ray on November 08, 1922 Together they had 2 children:

  1. Chester Ray
  2. George Ray
  3. Geraldine

She died on June 17, 1968 in Decatur, Adams, Indiana.[1][2]

Obituary

Mrs. Pearl Shaw is taken by death Mrs. Pearl Shaw, 65, of 121 North 15th street, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Adams county memorial hospital at 10:45 a.m. Monday. She had been in failing health for several years and had been hospitalized for the past seven weeks. She had been dismissed from the hospital Sunday evening but became ill again Monday morning. She was born in Adams county Aug. 22, 1902, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Topp-Hendricks. Her first husband, Vinton Ray, preceded her in death in 1940.

She was married to John Shaw May 8, 1948, and he died Nov. 29, 1959. Surviving are two sons, George E. Ray of Joplin, Mo., and Chester W. Ray of Nortonville, Ky.; a daughter, Mrs. Doris (Geraldine) Morin of Fort Wayne; four brothers, Richard and Elmer Hendricks of Decatur, Charles Hendricks of Berne, and Herman Hendricks of Gary; four sisters, Mrs. Alice Murphy of New Corydon, Miss Sarah Hendricks of Decatur, Mrs. Doyle (Josephine) Hendricks, of Dayton, O., and Mrs. Eddie (Cora) McFarland of Decatur route 6; 1? grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One sister and two brothers are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Zwick funeral home, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Simson Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in Studebaker cemetery near Berne. [1]
