My Grandfather, Adam Admire Hendricks was cousin of T.A. Hendricks, Vice President during Grover Cleveland's administration. He (Adam) came from Indiana in early years, and settled in Cedar Hills, Texas. Death was in 1883. He was married twice, first wife was Sophia Ann Mosley. The second was Elizabeth Ann Wolcott. He (Adam) was father of John Wiley Hendricks, who married Mary Jane Jackson. He was born in 1827. Mary Jane was born in 1830.
Note from manager of this tree, Gary Wofford. Family tradition is that Adam was the cousin of Thomas Andrew Hendricks. I don't doubt that they are relatives, as the rest of the history kept by the family in these writings is very reliable except for a few minor date issues. However, in looking at the family tree, they are not true first cousins. I have not been able to make the connection yet. T.A. Hendricks' uncle, William Hendricks was also a politician and Governor of Indiana. While some are eager to find such connections, I am not so sure that being related to a politician is such a worth goal. I am sure that I will find that they are 2nd or 3rd cousins sooner or later, but they are clearly not first cousins.
