Biography

Mary A. Hendrix was born March 31, 1866. [1] She was the daughter of Jacob and Elsie (Pool) Hendrix. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

She married William Norton Walrath on March 28, 1894 in Penn Yan, Yates County, New York. Family trees show that she had two children who died in infancy. [7] In 1900, they were in Potter, New York and later in Penn Yan. In 1915, they were in Milo, Yates County, New York. [8] [9] [10]

She died August 17, 1918 in Penn Yan, New York. She is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan, Yates County, New York. [11]

Walrath – In Penn Yan, April 17, 1918, Mary A., wife of WilliamWalrath, aged 52 years. She had been in poor health many years. Besides her husband she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Van Cleaf, of Staten Island, NY and Mrs, Isaac Sands, of Penn Yan; and two brothers, Jacob Hendrix of Newfield, NY and Wallace Hendrix of Dundee. The funeral will be held Sunday at 3 o’clock, from the home on East Main street, Rev. W. H. Wheatley, of the Baptist church, officiating. Burial in lake View cemetery. – Penn Yan Democrat, Friday, April 19, 1918.
