Harriett Melvina “Henrietta” Henkel was born January 28, 1810, in Shenandoah county, Virginia. She became the wife of the Reverend Jacob Stirewalt, son of John Stirewalt and Mary Elizabeth (Rendleman) Stirewalt, of Rowan county, North Carolina.

Mary Janetta Stirewalt, born Christmas Day, 1837, died April 16, 1842, buried in the churchyard of the Saint Matthews Church in New Market
Henrietta Helena Stirewalt, born November 17, 1839, died April 28, 1886, married John Clinedinst Morrison and resided in Harrisonburg, Virginia
Julia Jenette Stirewalt, born 1842, died 1843, buried in the buried in the churchyard of the Saint Matthews Church in New Market
Reverend John Nathaniel Stirewalt, born February 21, 1844, in New Market, Shenandoah county, Virginia, died January 11, 1907, in Luray, Page county, Virginia, married Emily Ann Hershberger
Reverend Jerome Paul Stirewalt, born April 11, 1850, in New Market, died May 28, 1934, in New Market, married Tirzah Amelia Coffman
Reverend Jacob Stirewalt died in 1869 and was buried in the churchyard of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of New Market. Harriett died April 24, 1886 and was buried with him. There is a photograph of her headstone on her Find A Grave memorial. [1]
