Biography
William John Henman was the son of Henry Henman and Sarah Cox.
He and his family sailed on the ship 'Collingwood' from England on 13 April 1875 and arriving at Nelson, July 9. He had a brother John and 2 sisters Jane 3 and Elizabeth 9 months, who also made the voyage out to New Zealand.
William Henman migrated from England to New Zealand.
William Henman married Alice Ann Harvey in Nelson in 1895. They had 2 children, Ruby Amelia (Emila) and Maldon Thorold William.
William worked as a Labourer and a Carter in Nelson later moving to Auckland in the 1940's.
William died age 83 and is buried at Waikumete cemetery, Auckland. NB. his cemetery record reads - occupation - horse driver. ANGLICAN DIVISION K ROW 18 PLOT 72.
