Obituary

Funeral services for Walter Hennecke, who would have been 71 on Jan 22, were held yesterday at 9:30 am at Untermeyer Funeral home and St Paul Lutheran Church with Rev H L Anderson officiating.

Mr Hennecke. a farmer and a rancher died Monday in Columbus Hospital after a short illness. His wife has been ill for several weeks.

Mr Hennecke was born in Mentz Jan 22, 1896 and had lived here all of his life..

Survivors include his widow, the former Etta ( Henrietta) Venghaus, whom he married in 1922, a daughter, Mrs Leslie Miller of Mentz, a son Royal William Hennecke of Mentz, three grandchildren, Linda Sue, Gary Lloyd and Susan Marie Miller.

Burial was in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Schultz, J W Golla, E F Hodge, Emmett Berger and Leon Walls all of the Mentz - Alleyton area and Sam Kaiser of Huntsville Colorado County Citizen, Jan 5 1967
