In 1910, he left Chester Grant and journeyed to Greenwich Ridge (Wolfville), where he bought 100 acres of land and constructed a two-storey home and began farming. He continued to farm until his death in 1927. His son Reginald Kenneth Hennigar took over the farm and lived there until he passed away in 1952. The home still stands, although the barn was torn down, after the property was sold in 1974, upon the death of Nettie Celeste, his wife.
