Lieutenant Hugh Henry, Jr. was born June 25, 1751, in Luneburg county, Virginia. At the time of the American Revolutionary War, Hugh was living in Pittsylvania county, Virginia, founded in 1767. Hugh served as an officer with Captains Donelson and Dillard. [1][2] Hugh Henry, Jr. is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A053746. DAR records indicate that Hugh died April 17, 1834, in Robertson county, Tennessee and that his wife's name was Elizabeth Tommason. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of their sons, John D. Henry, who married Sarah Elizabeth Walton; David Henry, who married Nancy Henry; and of their daughter Mary Henry, who married Azariah Hendley. [3]
