Biography

William was born on 25 December 1810 in Union County, Kentucky.

He married Mary Ann (Jane?) Sitler on 11 November 1832. They had 13 children.

1840 Census: (males) two under 5 (Joseph 1 & William Jr 5), one 5-10 (Alexander), one 20-30 (William Sr 30) and (females) one under 5 (Harriet 3), one 20-30 (Mary 25). Actually, I think son William's birthday (October) would be after the census was taken so would still be 4, not 5, but doesn't matter, everyone is accounted for.

1850 Census: Lists: W AM Henry, Mary A, W, Harriet, Jos D, Thomas L, M P, A E, Geo W and E G. This would be: William Alexander McCune Henry, Mary Ann Henry, William Henry, Harriet Henry, Joseph Dixon Henry, Thomas L, Henry, Marcus P Henry, Ann E Henry, George Washington Henry and Eleazor Givins Henry.

1860 Census: Lists: Wm M, Mary J, Joseph, Thomas, Marcus, George, Eleazer, Mary, Helen, James and Unnamed (would be John).

1870 Census: Lists: W A M Henry, Mary Jane, Marcus, Eleazon, Hellen and James. And 3 TAYLORs.

1880 Census: Living with son Joseph.

He passed away on 3 May 1882 in Crittenden County, Kentucky and is buried at the Bethel Cemetery in Sturgis, Union County, Kentucky.

I have not found a will for William yet.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
