Robert was born in 1828 to Arthur Henry and Eliza.[1] He was a Leiutenant Colonol with the 86th Regiment. He married Fanny Charlotte MacDonald in 1867.[2][3] He passed away in 1892.[4][5]

Lieut.-Col. R. E. Henry, Retired List, late 86th Regiment, died at 35, Stanhope-gardens, Queen's-gate, S.W., on the 19th inst., aged 63 years. He joined the Army, June 14 1850; became capt., June 25 1858; brevet-major, May 20, 1864; retired on half-pay, Nov. 10, 1865; was appointed to the Royal Body Guard, July 20, 1869; became lieut.-col., April 1, 1874; and subsequently retired by sale of his commission. He served with the Malwa, Nerbudda, and Central India Field Force in 1857-58, and was present at the siege and capture of Dhari, actions of Mundesoor and Goodarea, siege, storm and capture of Chundaree, and also of the fort and town of Jhansi, battles of Betwa and Kooneh, actions at Calpee, battle of Gowlowlee, battle of Morar, capture of Gwalior, acted as A.D.C. to Brig. Stuart in most of the latter engagements (medal with clasp, four times mentioned in despatches, and brevet of major).
