Biography

Pierre Henry was born around 1733.[1] He was the son of Pierre Henry and Anne Aucoin.

Pierre was listed at 19 years of age on the 1752 La Roque census at Anse de la Boullotierre, Isle St. Jean, Acadia (present-day Prince Edward Island) where the family had arrived 14 months earlier. They were the only family recorded in that village. There were 9 children in the household. [2]

The family was deported from the island to France in 1758. The conditions were horrific on the ship. His mother Anne and his youngest sibling Marie Josephe died at sea during the crossing. The rest of the family disembarked in Saint-Malo on 23 January 1759. [3] His father and four of his siblings (Pierre, Timothé, Jeanne, Elisabeth) died at the hospital a few weeks after arrival.
