"Raymond Hensley age 92, of Leslie, Michigan, passed away at Ridge Crest Health Campus on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Hensley, and an infant daughter, Gerema Kay Hensley. He is survived by his son Harland (Diane) Hensley of Jackson, daughter Brenda (Lee) Gilman of Sand Lake, five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jim) Austin, Kimberly Adee, Nicole (Paxton) Bigham, Danielle (Benjamin) Verway, Timothy Gilman, and nine great grandchildren. Raymond was born September 15, 1924, in Jackson, Kentucky, to Price and Mary Hensley. He had eleven siblings. As a boy, he helped farm Tobacco on his family's farm in rural Kentucky. Raymond married Jane Hensley May 29th, 1944. Together they built their two homes in Leslie, Michigan. Raymond was a hard worker, and was employed as a welder for ACME Industries in Jackson for over twenty-five years. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing golf with friends, playing Bluegrass and Gospel music on his guitar, and volunteered maintaining his church's property. In his retirement, he and Jane wintered in Florida for many years. Raymond's favorite times were spent in the company of his family and friends. He was married to his wife Jane for more than seventy years, and the devoted care he gave her during her declining health was an inspiration to many who knew them. He will be greatly missed."^[1]
