Mary Jane Denney, 86, of Mount Ayr died Aug. 2, 2007, at Mount Ayr Health Care Center.
Mary Jane Denney, daughter of Cora Belle (Maudlin) and George Washington Hensley, was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Worth County, Mo. On June 1, 1940, Mary married Lester M. Denney in Murray. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly (husband Walt) McGinnis of Mount Ayr and Julie Shelman of Kansas City, Mo.; son Jim (wife Karen) Denney of Mount Ayr; sister-in-law Nadine Hensley of Savannah, Mo.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law Bill Shelman; five brothers, Walter, Lester, Wayne, Everett and Verl Hensley; and three sisters, Sadie Black, Belle Wilson and Vera Hensley.
