Biography

Emma was born about 1879. She passed away about 1980.

Research Notes

George W. Henson and Vandora Rogers were married in December 1879. [1] Emma indicates from records she was born in February 1879. This is on her headstone. But she does not appear in the 1880 census and is not in the 1900 as she was already married. There is no birth record to confirm her parents.

The 1900 Census lists her birth as Feb 1879 and she is living near several George Henson's siblings. [2] George is in Floyd county and the indication for his wife Vandora is that she had 8 children and 8 living. [3] There are 7 children living with them and Emma would be the 8th.

There is a DNA link between her descendant and the descendant of Millie (Harkins) Henson's brother Tilman R Harkins' with a sharing of 25cM. The two descendants would be at the 4th cousin level if Emma is the child of George. This needs more research to confirm.
