Birth

Samuel Alburn Henty was born in Brighton in 1851. His mother's maiden surname was Lower^[1]. He was baptised In Brighton 19 October 1851. His parents were Samuel and Elizabeth Henty^[2]

1st Marriage and Children

Samuel Albourn Henty and Emma Gander were married 2 August 1868 in Brighton.^[3]

In 1871 Samuel and Emma were lodging in Brighton with the Wakeford family. With them was their daughter Elizabeth Emma Hinty aged one day old. Samuel was working as a printer.^[4]

Samuel's wife Emma died aged 27 in 1874^[5]. Their daughter Elizabeth died aged 3 in the same quarter of 1874^[6]

2nd Marriage and Children

Samuel and Mary Caroline Russell were married 26 September 1875 in St Peter's Church, Brighton, Sussex. Samuel Albourne Henty was a widower aged 24. He gave his profession as Paper Bag maker. He was living at 29 Richmond Buildings. His father (deceased) was Samuel Henty, a labourer. Mary Caroline Russell was a spinster aged 18 living at the same address. Her father was Thomas Russell, also a labourer. Their witnesses were John James Laycock and Kate S Shelley^[7]

In 1881 Samuel and Mary were living in Brighton with their children Clara and Samuel T^[8].
