Biography

Kate was the second of six children, eldest daughter of Thomas and Maria Henwood. At sixteen years old she was living at home, at the 'Courlands', Charlton Kings. ^[1] Throughout her adult life she worked at a number of different quality stores as a shop assistant, mostly in the glove departments. In the 1901 Census she is found in Bristol, in a small shop run by a French lady, where she was one of only two assistants^[2]It is believed that she was interred in the family grave at St. Mary's Church, Charlton Kings. The Gloucester Echo ran an obituary. ^[3]
