"Dear Folks, it is with sadness and also relief that I pen this tribute to you all; particularly David & Albert her sons & Jackie & Raelene; You cared for Anne throughout the years, she and I have been long time friends, and in the last 5 years it was the most difficult time of all. She was fortunate to have such a caring family. I know there were times of turmoil, but she was very fierce regarding her boys and had a hard time looking after John until he died. Her biggest fault was that she would not let go of her sons, but she loved you all like a TIGER and was so proud of you and your achievements. When she became a grandmother there was nobody as good and lovely as her grandkids, and later when she became a great grandmother it was just the same. Ann even extended her love to my two grandkids and Dan became her fixation in making him a Bulldog Fan - she got him badges, caps, jerseys a bulldog soft toy and cushions to take to games, I must say that Dan loved her too. He sometimes visited her in Westhaven with me or with Pat's daughter/Mother in law who lived locally and visited Anne when we did. Of course throughout our friendship I found her impossible at times and we used to argue, but it was that kind of friendship always slinging off at each other, but I could always rely on her loyalty...it is a thing with you SCOT's isn't it? And I always can say she was the Ditchburn's family 'True Blue' friend for over 30 years, can look back and laugh over the good times. Sincerely Jack and Mollie Ditchburn."
