Biography

Charles was born about 1567, the third son of Edward Herbert of Montgomery and Blackhall.[1]

Three of Edward Herbert's legitimate sons—Richard, Matthew and Charles—acted as executors, and the overseers were his kinsman, Sir Edward Herbert, who, despite their rivalry, had supported him in the 1588 election contest, Richard Herbert of Park, Richard Morrice, Hugh Owen and Hugh Lloyd [2]

Sheila, I think Charles may have been one of Edward's illigitimate children....have been unable to verify that Elizabeth is his mother. If you have a source please list it in the next several days, otherwise she will be removed from his profile while the search goes on. Thanks.
