Hannah Herd was born about 1742, and was christened in Arlecdon, Cumberland, England on June 22 1743 or 4 (sources are not consistent) ^[1]

She married Christopher Gaitskell in 1765 . There is a record of the Bond being signed on February 3 of that year ^[2]

Their children were:

• Joseph was born in 1766.
• Mary was born in 1766 and christened in Ponsonby, Cumberland, England on May 10 of that year. ^[3]
• Susanna was born in 1768.
• Jane was born in 1770.
• Hannah was born in 1771.
• Elizabeth was born in 1773.
• Sarah was born in 1775 and christened on September 13 of that year in Whicham, Cumberland. ^[4]
• Isabella was born in 1777 and christened on March 31 of that year ^[5]
• Ann was born in 1781 and christened at Whicham on April 25 of that year. ^[6]
• Mehetable was born in 1781 and christened in Whicham on April 11 of that year. ^[7]
• Frances was born in 1783 and christened at Broughton in Furness on September 14 of that year. ^[8]
• John was born in 1785 and christened in Broughton in Furness on November 20 of that year ^[9]

Research Note

The oldest two children are born too close to each other in time. I have not been able to find a source for Joseph's birth, even though a specific date (February 16 1766) is quoted Kennedy-14080 17:21, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
