Biography

William Heritage was born in Staffordshire, England.

William George Heritage was born in 1877 in Darlaston, Staffordshire, England and baptised there on 16th November the same year, when the family were living in Dilhorne, Staffordshire. He was the son of William Heritage and Sophia Flowers. ^[1][2][3]

In 1881, William G Heritage (3, born in Darlaston) was living with his parents, William T Heritage (25, a general labourer born in Chacombe, Northamptonshire) and Sophia (27, born in Whitfield, Northamptonshire) and one sibling, Anne M (1) at 9, Catherines Cross New Place, Darlaston, Walsall, Staffordshire. ^[5]

By 1901, his mother, Sophia was widowed and head of household. William G (23) was a boiler stoker in a nut and bolt works. He was the eldest son in a family of five children. ^[6]

In 1911, William (33, a boiler stoker) had been married for seven years to Elizabeth (30) and they had had three children, all surviving - William (6), Edward (5) and Elizabeth (1). They were living at 46 Wolverhampton Street, Darlaston. ^[7]

William G Heritage died age 77 years. His death was registered in Wednesbury District, Staffordshire in 1955. ^[8]
