- A sad death occurred in a motor car near Lismore about 5 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, when Cecil Mervin Archer, aged five years, the second youngest son of Mr. R. W. Archer, district manager of the Australian Provincial Assurance Association, died whilst being conveyed from East Ballina to Lismore for medical treatment. The little chap, who had been delicate from birth, was a universal favorite everywhere he went, and his death will be heard with deep regret by all who know the parents of the child.
- Mr. and Mrs. Archer had been visiting Sydney, and on learning that he was not well they hastened home, arriving on Saturday afternoon at East Ballina where the child had been residing with its grandfather, Mr. Ernest Hermann.
