Biography

Arthur was born at 483 North Main Street in Providence, Rhode Island on 16 October 1912. He was a son and seventh child of Otto, aged 37, a cornice maker born in Hungary, and Ida Wexler, age 33, also born in Hungary.[1]

Arthur resided at 607 Garland Avenue in Takoma Park, Montgomery County, Maryland in 1940 when he completed his draft registration card. He was married and was employed by Uthai V. Wilcox in Washington, D.C. He reported that he was born in Providence, Rhode Island on 16 October 1912.[2]

Arthur married Mary Ann Calli on 22 February 1938 in Manhattan, New York. He was a reporter residing on Staten Island at the time. [3]

Arthur died near Washington, D.C., perhaps in Silver Spring, Maryland, on 28 October 1969, where he worked as the public affairs director of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. He was a former newsman for the International News Service, Gannett newspapers, and McGraw Hill publications, covering Congress, the White House, and other governmental agencies. He was educated in Canastota, New York.[4]

Arthur is buried with his wife in Saint Agatha Cemetery in Canastota, Madison County, New York.[5]
