I became interested in genealogy after the death of my paternal grandfather.
After deciding to follow in my father's footsteps and join the US Marines, a guidance councilor at Southport High School encouraged me to follow the ROTC path. So, I stumbled into Purdue University. After a rocky first year, I came home and took a class or two at IUPUI. After BA and MS I continued as staff at IUPUI. Started taking karate classes, then helping teach karate, then teaching my own classes, then starting a school, then bought another school.
Australian Connections: Vince is 19 degrees from Cate Blanchett, 26 degrees from Russell Crowe, 21 degrees from Howard Florey, 26 degrees from Dawn Fraser, 35 degrees from Cathy Freeman, 25 degrees from Barry Humphries, 23 degrees from Bert Jacka, 28 degrees from Hugh Jackman, 24 degrees from Bertram Mackennal, 21 degrees from Rupert Murdoch, 19 degrees from Banjo Paterson and 18 degrees from Henry Ross on our single family tree. We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.
If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.

Thank you for your contributions to the January 2022 Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added to an unsourced profile improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your own family history to help others.

A while back you contacted me about joining the Palatine Migration Project. We started the process of enrolling you in the project but I need you to contact me (by private message) so that I can get your email address and we can complete the process. Let me know if you are still interested.

Thanks for being a member of the Mid-Atlantic Team for the January Connectathon. It was a fun and productive weekend. We added 2,936 profiles to Wikitree, almost a thousand more than last July’s Connectathon.
In Mindy’s wrap up message, she mentions how to delete from your watchlist profiles you do not want to continue to manage. Can I make a suggestion, before you do this, can you check your suggestion list and see if there are any typos that need to be corrected. We don’t want to add to the data doctors’ work.
See you next thon Mickey
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. Please be sure to read and understand the info on this help page: Pre-1700_Profiles.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask in our G2G forum
Take care and have fun
